Human Doing or Human Being?
We've become Human Doings. Not Human Beings.

Our days are a blur of task lists, to-dos, and back-to-back projects. We jump from one thing to the next — constantly in motion, rarely in reflection. And somewhere along the way, we lose sight of the person we're supposed to BE.

That loss shows up in a few ways:
→ Silence feels uncomfortable instead of restorative
→ You define yourself entirely by what you produce
→ If you Stop, you feel like you Fail

Here's one simple exercise that's helped the leaders I coach reconnect with who they are — not just what they do: Write your identity statement.

Not a to-do list. An identity statement.

Here are some starter sentences:
"I am someone who..."
"I lead by..."
"I show up for others as..."
"My values in action look like..."

Read it back. Does it reflect the person you actually want to be?

Print it out. Put it somewhere visible. Read it daily.

The goal isn't to stop doing. It's to do from a place of knowing who you are. That's what prevents burnout. That's what sustains performance.

Are you operating as a Human Doing — or a Human Being?
